Center for Hybrid Nanostructures (CHyN)

Based on an urban planning study by Reiner Becker Architekten BDA for the expansion of the Physics Campus in Hamburg Bahrenfeld, the southern area of the site is currently being developed in coordination with DESY. The “Center for Hybrid Nanostructures” (CHyN) is the first new building on the South Campus, the former Reemtsma site. 1st prize winner of the VOF procedure was the office Reiner Becker Architekten from Berlin.
The aim of the project is the development of hybrid nanostructures for the analysis and manipulation of biological materials and systems and further clean room areas. The building consists of various laboratories on approx. 220 m². Completion 1st quarter 2017. Construction sum approx. 66.6 million euros.
