Parkstadt Mülheim

Over the next few years, the owner-managed real estate company Soravia will be developing “Parkstadt Mülheim”, an attractive area for working, living and working. The main focus here is on the aspects of ecology, sustainability and social mix in order to create a lively and future-oriented neighborhood.

The redevelopment of the former Tengelmann site is currently one of the most ambitious neighborhood developments in Germany. On the approximately 130,000 m² site, a completely new district is being created with around 65,000 m² of total leasable space. An urban planning and open space planning competition was held for the neighborhood development, in which the planning of the Vienna-based architectural firm StudioVlayStreeruwitz and the landscape planner PlanSinn, also based in Vienna, were convincing.

The redesign of Parkstadt Mülheim focuses on preserving the unique campus atmosphere and on maintaining and expanding the park area, which extends over 27,000 m² and includes historic trees. The 67,000 m² existing building is being revitalized and developed.
